XSeed Labs at BioMed X USA, located on the campus of Boehringer Ingelheim in Ridgefield, Connecticut, is an enthusiastic and dynamic group of top-level scientists dedicated to developing the next generation of organ-on-a-chip models for modeling fibrosis and wound healing.

About Team MFW

The goal of our team, led by Dr Lorenzo Talà, is to create advanced in-vitro models that recapitulate human physiology, allowing for drug discovery tailored to humans without the need for animal experimentation.

The primary aim of this project is to create models that closely mimic human physiology, enabling more efficient and effective drug discovery processes. The team is dedicated to developing the next generation of organ-on-a-chip models for modeling fibrosis and wound healing.

Job Description

We are seeking a Research Assistant to join our team and contribute to the development of the next-generation in vitro models of fibrosis and wound healing by performing the following tasks:

  • Cell culture of skin-derived cells.
  • Bioprinting of 3D skin models.
  • Assist in analysis of experimental results.
  • Presentation of scientific results to stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a broader range of responsibilities when necessary.

Required Skills

Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • BSc or MSc degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical sciences, Life sciences, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in cell culture techniques, particularly of primary cells (fibroblasts, endothelial cells, keratinocytes, etc.).
  • Familiarity with molecular biology assays, e.g. cloning, multiplex ELISA, Single cell RNA-seq, etc.
  • Previous experience in microscopy and image analysis using common open-source image analysis software such as Python, Fiji, Cellpose, QuPath, etc.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Additional Skills

Candidates with expertise in the following areas will be given preference:

  • Hands-on experience with knowledge graphs.
